Berkeley CareBridge:
Real support today, and a path forward tomorrow.
CareBridge is free, voluntary, and participant-centered, delivered by the City of Berkeley in partnership with Options Recovery Services and community partners.
A supportive bridge from crisis to stability—strengthening health, housing, and connection, breaking cycles of recidivism, and building a safer Berkeley for everyone

About the Program
Berkeley CareBridge is a six-month post-arrest diversion and reentry support program that helps individuals stabilize after release from custody and reduce the likelihood of re-arrest. The program offers behavioral health support, case management, basic needs assistance, and connections to long-term housing and services.
The ultimate goal is to reduce recidivism by
providing structured, coordinated support
during the critical months following a law-enforcement
encounter.
Berkeley CareBridge provides immediate stabilization and supportive reentry services for adults in Berkeley who have had contact with the justice system within the past three years and would benefit from behavioral health or substance use support. We offer a safe place to stay, meals, behavioral health services, and navigation—grounded in dignity and compassion.
Our team helps you meet urgent needs now while developing a realistic plan for housing, health, recovery, employment, and long-term stability.
