Twenty-year organizational leader assumes permanent role after steering Options through a period of transition
BERKELEY, Calif. — August 11, 2026 — Options Recovery Services, a Berkeley-based nonprofit providing substance use disorder treatment and recovery support across the Bay Area, has named Suzoni Camp, MHA, as its Executive Director. The appointment, approved by the organization’s Board of Directors, makes permanent the leadership role Camp has held on an interim basis since earlier this year and caps two decades of service to the organization.

“Over the past several months, Suzoni has provided thoughtful, steady leadership during an important transition, and the Board is confident she is the right person to lead Options forward,” said Susan Champion, Co-President, Options Recovery Services Board of Directors. “This decision reflects our confidence in her leadership, her vision, and her deep commitment to the people and communities we serve.”
Camp brings 20 years of experience at Options, where she has served in nearly every capacity. Early in her career she provided direct client services, including case management, community outreach, and crisis intervention. Over the past 13 years she has held organizational leadership roles, helping expand Options’ programs into the Oakland and San Leandro areas, launching pilot programs, and implementing new state mandates. Most recently, as Chief of Operations, she oversaw the organization’s treatment programs, administration, human resources, and medical support.
Camp holds a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration and is a certified Substance Use Disorder Specialist and a member of the National Association of Alcohol and Drug Counselors (NAADAC). Beyond Options, she has supported program reviews for California’s Department of Health Care Services through the University of California, serves on the Board of Directors of the Berkeley Food and Housing Program, and was recognized as an Outstanding Woman of Berkeley — an honor for which she was nominated by Options’ founder, the late Dr. Davida Coady.
“It has been the honor of my career to serve this organization and the people who walk through our doors,” said Camp. “Options changes lives because we meet people with dignity and treat access to recovery as something everyone deserves — including those in rural and underserved communities who are too often overlooked. I am grateful to the Board for its trust, and I look forward to building on Options’ strong foundation as we deepen our impact and extend our reach.”
